Wine Story was created to promote small family vineyards selected for their focus on preserving traditional and natural methods of production. Wine Story is the exclusive UK representative for vineyards in all French wine regions and also from other famous wine production area all around the world.
Our name, Wine Story, reflects our philosophy that wine is far more than a mere consumer product. It is above all a cultural symbol which represents the identity of a region, its geography, its architecture, its tradition and its own unique story.
We represent small family vineyards because we feel that the human factor behind the wine is really important. Here at Wine Story, our philosophy is that where wine is concerned “small is beautiful” in the sense that wines lovingly produced in small quantities by families who have often worked there for generations are more likely to have individual character, identity and soul than wine produced as a brand in big volumes in an impersonal factory environment. Our wine selection is also based on finding wines which are really typical of their region to help you appreciate the diversity of the world of wine in its full glory.
We focus on natural ways of production because we fervently believe that wine is a natural product which deserves respect and which should be preserved as much possible from the artificial influences of chemicals and additives such as sulphur and pesticides.
Wine Story supplies both corporate and private customers and our current client list includes the most prestigious banks and law firms, companies such as Sothebys and also The United Nations and the French Embassy.
Wine Story’s wine selection can also be found in the UK’s best restaurants’ wine lists and is considered by sommeliers as one of the most attractive portfolios of wine available. “Has been selected by Head Sommelier of”, in the description of the particular wine, means that it has been selected by the sommelier and sold by Wine Story to this restaurant.
In addition to representing vineyards in the UK, Wine Story also conducts wine tasting sessions to groups of individuals and for businesses on request.
I hope that you find the same pleasure in tasting our wines as we had when selecting them, which involved carefully tasting them and meeting along the way many passionate wine-makers who are rightly proud of their land, their culture and above all their wine.
Please do not hesitate to visit our web site regularly for information on our new additions and our monthly promotions. Our Events page will tell you about our next wine tasting sessions and “wine-maker dinners” (where winemakers come along to a restaurant to tell you about their wine while you taste it and dine), which are open to the public or the trade.
We are always happy to hear your feedback on our wines – please do not hesitate to contact us.

Brought up in a family of caterers, Cognac producers and oyster farmers, Thibault Lavergne gained an appreciation of fine wine and food. This early education inspired him to study wine, obtaining a degree in “Viticulture and Oenologie” in Bordeaux. During that time he worked as a wine maker in a Bordeaux vineyard, learning first hand how to make fine wine. After 8 years in the wine trade, first as a wine buyer in France, then as a sales manager in London, he founded Wine Story Limited in June 2005.
