Domaine de Nizas

INDEX

Languedoc

Domaine de Nizas was created in 1998 by the Franco-American John Goelet. It was his first winemaking investment in France, after establishing Clos Du Val in Napa and Taltarni and Clover Hill in Australia.

By the time Languedoc was associated with high volume and low quality wines, John Goelet wanted to demonstrate it is possible to create quality wines in the Languedoc. His trusted adviser, Bernard Portet, involved himself in identifying the appropriate parcels around Domaine de Nizas would allow the AOC and varietal wines. His goal was to reflect the local character, with the combination of Mediterranean scents and aromas and volcanic earth.

Languedoc Blanc “Les Terres Noires” 2014 75 cl

This wine has a pale gold colour with green hints. Its bouquet is very intense with aromas of citrus, white peach and wild fennel. The palate is well-balanced, clean and crisp, expressing all the aromas in a fresh complexity and lingering finish. A surprisingly expressive South of France white wine that embodies the Domaine de Nizas style of balance and elegance.

This charming white wine is an ideal partner to poultry, white meats or fish, grilled or served with a creamy sauce. Serve at a cool temperature (10° - 12°). Open one hour before tasting.
