This medium sweet Chenin Blanc (100 grs of residual sugar) is named after Saint Martin, the local iconic Bishop of Tours who after the legend, planted for the first time the Chenin Blanc grape in the region, variety that he brought with him from his native Hungary. Harvested in November, after three different selections, aged for four months in 225l oak barrels. Ideal with foie gras, blue cheeses and fruits and chocolate desserts. Only 1200 bottles produced, could be aged until 2060!
The nose is complex and strongly aromatic, with notes of slightly lemony verbena and white peaches. The mouth is full and fleshy with a frank and neat attack. The Mediterranean abundance of the vineyard gives to the wine a good mineral freshness. Has been selected by the Head Sommelier of The Milestone, Maze.
