After its lovely crimson-ruby colour with raspberry tints, Chateau Haut Peyruguet red reveals a nice powerful bouquet of red fruit scents with hints of flower, spice and mildish mint. On the palate, it is fleshly, rounded and fruity with fine, mature tannins and a lovely fresh finish. Has been selected by the Head Sommelier of La Trompette, The Goring and Swan Hotel.
Very juicy and inviting, with deliciously ripe notes of linzer torte, blackberry and crushed plum, laced with anise and toasted spice. The lively finish stretches out nicely.
