A delicious vintage of Grand Vin, this wine shows great depth and drinkability now with the promise to age gracefully for at least another five years thanks to a ripe fruit center, medium acidity, structured tannins and superb overall balance. Full-bodied, bold, concentrated, and with layer after layer of aromas and flavours that linger on. Look for currants, cherries, plums, and spices on the palate, with hints of cedar. Kosher Wine. Has been selected by the Head Sommelier of Marcus Wareing.
Full-bodied with on the palate layers of black fruit, herbs and spices with notes of graphite and green foliage, the acidity is bracing with well-balanced tannins that have yet to integrate and notes of cigar tobacco and dark chocolate on the long finish. This wine is approachable now but quite austere at this point and has great potential to improve and develop for years to come, well-done. Kosher Wine. Has been selected by the Head Sommelier of Marcus Wareing.
Cabernet Sauvignon: 70%, Merlot: 25%, Petit Verdot: 5%
The wine has a concentrated, complex aroma with notes of berries and spices.
Rich wine, clear, with a silky texture, berry and spicy tones, soft tannins and a long finish
Very juicy and inviting, with deliciously ripe notes of linzer torte, blackberry and crushed plum, laced with anise and toasted spice. The lively finish stretches out nicely.
Wine Spectator: James Molesworth 90/100
This wine is made up of the 13 different grapes varieties of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The (on average) 100 year old vines and the very low yield (between 10 and 15 hectolitres per hectare) means that only 2000 bottles of this wine are produced for each vintage. It has a red ruby colour, scents of aromatic red fruit and black cherries and a ripe palate with a long after taste. Limited number of bottles available. This 1990 is in my top free best wine list, very delicate and velvety. Has been selected by the Head Sommelier of Helene d'Arroze
